It is strange that people immediately think of porn when you talk about kids doing internet searches, especially young kids. Computers are part of our lives like television, phones, etc. Sure people can use them for many different purposes. I don't see anything wrong with teaching them to do their own searches. In fact, it only makes them smarter. I let Lexi play/pound on the computer too. --I guess I am a bad mom too. :)

The right sees themselves as supporters of the underdog as well whether it is an unborn fetus, a worker who does not with to join a powerful union, a small business owner who wants to resits powerful government interference etc. I am not saying either side is right, just that your claim that there is something like the "objective" underdog (an extremely context sensitive concept) and that the left sides with the objective underdog, is a very poor argument.
Actually, the Mckinley Climactic Laboratory has facilities to run engines inside the lab. there is a massive air induction system to accomodate the delivery of enough conditioned air to run engines on a C-5A!! Obviously, this is supplemented by an exhaust ducting sytem......I don't know what power levels this can handle, but I know they at least can run at idle.
The law of large numbers makes the system inert to catastrophe. It might be terrible for the individuals that suffers from whatever plight visited upon them but humanity shall prevail. Even with the much smaller people numbers of the middle-ages humanity survived the black death which perished half the population of Europe. If a similar catastrophe would hit the planet now 3.5 billion humans would survive, a larger number than inhabited the earth in 1900. So to quote Mad magazine "What me worry?"
